About Officer AdvancementsMost Blue Lodges such as ours (as well as other Masonic bodies) use an advancing line of officers; a Brother will serve one year in a position and then move up to a more responsible position the following year (if he has served conscientiously) in a regular pattern. Serving in this manner provides officers with experience at all levels of responsibility and allows for orderly planning of activities. It is also necessary that a Brother serve a year as either Junior or Senior Warden to be qualified for election as Master of a Lodge; the principle of line advancement in office provides this opportunity.

MarshalHis Jewel is the Crossed Batons. The Marshal is the Lodge's Conductor. The Marshal of a Masonic Blue Lodge is an appointed officer of the Lodge. The Marshal is in some jurisdictions the "Director of Ceremonies". The Marshal's duties and principle role is the organization of processions and ensuring the correct precedence and etiquette in formal proceedings. It is his duty to formally conduct visitors into the lodge and introduce them to the members when the lodge is in session. The Marshal's position is similar to that of a Supervisor.
